Demolition of Capital Court building well underway

Work to demolish the former office building known as Capital Court on the Brentford Community Stadium site is now well underway and will be completed by mid November.

Planning amendments for the Brentford Community Stadium development were submitted to Hounslow Council last month. These included changes to the stadium and enhancements to the overall masterplan and the first phase of the residential development. Site clearance is continuing across the whole site while these amendments are being considered by the Council so that Lionel Road Developments and its development partner Be Living are ready to start the main stadium and residential build phases early in the New Year.

A web camera has been installed on the roof of neighbouring Kew House School so that each step of the demolition process can be captured and shared with fans and local residents.

Matthew Townend, Managing Director at Be Living Ltd: “We are delighted to be getting on with work on site to demolish the Capital Court building as part of our ongoing work to clear and prepare the whole site for the start of the stadium and residential build phases early in the New Year.”

Cliff Crown, Chairman of Brentford Football Club said: “The demolition of the Capital Court building is an important step in getting ready for the first phase of stadium and residential building work. It’s a really tangible sign that progress is being made and I know that many fans, who’ve been waiting so long for this, will be really pleased to see it finally happening. I would like to thank Kew House School for allowing us to install a web camera on the roof of their new school building so we can capture and share this event with fans and local residents in a time-lapse video next month.”
