Strategy

The strategy will deliver substantial social, economic and transport benefits
for this area of West London, including:

  • The regeneration of three brownfield sites in Brentford (Lionel Road, the existing
football ground at Griffin Park and the Fountain Leisure Centre)
  • A modern 20,000 seat stadium for football, rugby and potentially other
    sports
  •  A new local authority indoor sports centre, including swimming pools, sports
and exercise halls and related facilities
  • A new health centre accommodating GPs, dentists, health visitors, district
nurses, physiotherapy and complimentary therapies. This can be integrated
with sports, education and cultural activities to create a healthy living centre
  • A social enterprise incubation centre supported by Community Action
    Network
  • Integrated operation as a vibrant community hub, linking sport with health
and social care, education, enterprise, cultural and leisure facilities, promoting
    social inclusion
  • Associated enabling development, including housing, hotel and leisure facilities,
to maximise land use and economic sustainability
  • A sustainable future for Brentford FC in a multi-purpose stadium complex,
which will also generate non-football related income
